Dick LeConte designed the front nine opening in July 1980. Chuck Ankrom designed and finished the back nine in the summer of 1982. Plush fairways, palm trees rustling in the ocean breezes and flowering foliage. Its signature 8th (from the tips you must carry three bodies of water to get to the green) and 10th holes are among the finest in the area. The course design brings water into play on 14 holes. It is not long and overbearing, or designed to be tortuous to the average golfer. Find some very challenging holes, water, sand and out-of- bounds; well kept fairways and greens; altogether a neat course to play.

A fun course to play. There are some sand bunkers on the course, but the main hazards are the lakes and wetlands that come into play on most of the holes. The front nine has young trees that haven't quite matured, and the back nine, the older of the two, has many pine trees lining its fairways. The greens are undulating and fast, and the fairways have a defined cut of rough, so shot accuracy is at a premium. The signature hole is #1, a 322-yard, par 4, requiring a blind approach shot over the "Dragon's Head" berm in order to reach the green.

Narrow fairways are not lined with trees, but marshlands instead. There is also a defined cut of rough bordering the fairways, so shot accuracy is at a premium. The large greens are somewhat sloped. The signature hole is #7, a 485-yard, par 5, which a golfer can reach in two shots, but they must hit his or her shot to a green that is well protected by water hazards. There are a few grass bunkers on the course, but there are many more waste bunker.

Attached 2 bedroom "villa" style homes with two baths and two car garages. Pirce range starts mid $300,000. Estate homes starting around $475 and up. Reasonable equity membership to residents with annual dues which include swimming and tennis.

Built in 1920, county owned and operated, this club has two eighteen hole courses. The Gold/Blue Course is used more than the Red/White Course. The Gold/Blue Course is the newer course with tight fairways. There is water that comes into play on almost every hole. The signature hole is #9, a par 4. There are trees on the right and water on the left. The Red/White Course has sand bunkers protecting almost every green.

The Osprey Course is the favorite of club members, while the Crane Course, with newly rebuilt Champion turf greens, is liked more by the advanced golfers.
